Towneley Hall Art Gallery & Museum

Towneley Hall was the home of the Towneley family for over 500 years until 1902. Displays include oil and watercolour paintings, studio pottery, Royal Lancastrian Pilkington Pottery, regional oak furniture.
The Hall contains fine period rooms,Great Hall,Regency entertaining rooms,long gallery and victorian kitchens,Guided tours can be pre booked and groups are welcome. The historic parkland and formal gardens are a walkers delight,refreshments can be taken in the stables restaurant.
The park contains a new childrens play area,pitch and putt and two golf courses.

Opening Times

Towneley Hall is open from 12-5pm Saturday to Wednesday

The Hall is open from 12.30-5pm on Thursdays

Please note we are closed on Fridays.

The park is open until dusk everyday.


Entry is free to Children, Students and Burnley residents
Non-Burnley residents – £4.00.

Causeway End (Golf) (80 spaces)

  • £2 per day

9- hole golf (65 spaces)

Pavilion car park (85 spaces)

  • Opened only for matches
  • Free parking for football and cricket users

Barwise Car Park
